Penny Buckley

I create abstract art that delves into the interplay of shape, color, pattern, and texture, aiming to spark curiosity and elicit an emotional response from viewers. My work, non-representational in nature, encourages a closer examination. Straddling the line between printmaking and painting, I produce single-edition prints by applying paper to a plate layered with multiple applications of paint. Utilizing stencils, masks, and stamps, I manipulate each layer of paint before lifting the print by hand. This technique unveils a complex dance of colors, shapes, and patterns, creating artwork rich in depth and mystery. My artistic process is one of exploration and discovery, guided by my intuitive voice.
