Judy Munger

As a retired teacher, my journey into the world of basket weaving began with a nudge from a friend to join a class. This led to a delightful shift from teacher to student. My weaving goal is to create pieces that are both attractive and utilitarian. I work with a wide variety of reed and cane, crafting baskets in all shapes, sizes, and colors. The artistic part for me is visualizing the end result; the process of making a basket starts with selecting specific types, sizes, and colors of reed. These are counted, measured, and laid out in an organized grid, setting the foundation for the basket's eventual size and shape as the weaving progresses to completion.
