Chris Bubany
In 1994, I unexpectedly discovered ceramics, a discovery that led to a fulfilling 30-year career in creating ceramic tableware. My pieces are recognized for their vivid colors and whimsical characters and designs. Often referred to as "happy dishes" by my customers, my designs draw inspiration from my love of folk art and the Sonoran Desert. The labor-intensive creation process involves applying every color (except black) three to four times, firing the pieces, glazing them multiple times, and then firing them again. Ultimately, my tableware is both food- and dishwasher-safe, although it is not suitable for microwave or oven use.
All of my ceramic pieces are hand painted in my studio, here in Tucson, Arizona. I grew up in the Southwest where the brilliant colors and designs influence all my art. You'll find hummingbirds, wildflowers, quail, desert scenes and more - all designed to help you Celebrate the Everyday!®
